It's Monday night, I'm on the sofa with a panad looking through my photos trying my best to ignore Game of Thrones - way to gruesome for me.
Bank Holiday weekends are so, so precious nowadays; Mark works 9 to 5 Monday to Friday and I work Saturday and Sunday's - Bank Holiday Monday's are like a freebie day off that neither of us needs to use a day's holiday for (we're saving ours for London with Martha)
Today was doubly special because it's Osh's 10th Birthday. I had big ideas of heading down to Pwllheli and spending the day at the beach and at the fairground. Pwllheli is my happy place and the kids love it there too. But Osh has been ill since last night and there was no way we could make him spend a day at the beach - he would have been miserable. My really goes out to him, it's awful to be ill on your birthday especially when you've been looking forward to it for so long
Mark is a home-bird but I get cabin fever and really don't like staying at home all day. I wasn't thrilled at the idea of the day at home - but I have had a really lovely day.
We cleaned out the sandpit from last summer and refilled it with fresh playing sand for the girls to play, we lounged on the deck chairs and Osh read his book in the sun, Mark dug up all the weeds and planted some flowers I bought from the Hardware store across the road. We ate our dinner in the garden as it was still beautifully warm.
At the very end of the day, I remembered that tomorrow (Tuesday) is the last day of the month and I hadn't taken our "Me and Mine" photo. So we took Osh's birthday cake outside and I bribed everyone to smile for a photo with the promise of a slice of Vienetta...after all my hard work I managed to get two usable photos!
It's been a tough month and I'll get another post up soon going into more detail. But for now, I'm going to enjoy the rest of the Half Term Holidays with my babies.
I hope you're having a lovely half term week too!!!
